AMAZING
BEan IN NATURE PROGRAMS
We are working with our professional and lay leaders to take a balanced and active approach to our Nature school PODs, while following the County Guidelines for safety. As we have seen throughout this period, the situation continues to evolve at such a rapid pace.
Using natural history study as our educational spine and with lots of opportunities for play and discovery, we will immerse in subjects like science, math, poetry, art, geography, history and environmental stewardship and more! BEan Micro Nature School provides a secular, multi-age experience in the best classroom ever - the amazing outdoors!
Please trust, we will continue to follow the SC Guidance of stable groups, offering 6 week rotation for students, children in the same household can be in the same group whenever possible, symptom screening before camp, clear and concise hygiene protocol and plenty of room and outdoor safe space to have for each child.

I am happy with how this virtual nature class worked out. I was worried in the beginning, but you made it fun and interactive. Thank you. Especially when you ask children to go outside during rainy day. Nadia always been an outdoor girl. She can be outside in the backyard for hours by herself. Making stories, talking to the chickens, biking around the backyard etc. she just a happy girl!..
We are blessed to be in this community, thank you.

Thankful for Marisa’s online class meetings, which remind us of all that is available in nature and what we have to look forward to when shelter-in-place orders are eased. The kids have enjoyed seeing friends and teachers, even teachers from past years! The teachers take feedback well and make adjustments each week as they gauge the interests of the students. We have also appreciated additional resources posted to the online classroom, which spark conversations about taking care of nature.

Cenzo and Roman are LOVING the camp! Thank you so much. If our school is delayed we may sign them up again but no matter what we will come back in 2021.

Our daughter Genevieve has attended various BEan in Nature summer camps and the ongoing weekly Earth Education Program on Wednesday.
The positive impact to her overall development, both educationally and socially has been hugely significant. Her appreciation of nature and its fragility, increased empathy demonstrated by working collaboratively with others and being receptive of different opinions are just a few of the areas she has grown during her time at BEan in Nature. In addition, her critical thinking skills have really flourished as she is faced with challenges that are outside the relatively confined choices available in a traditional classroom. This had led to increased confidence to address some of the challenges she faces in everyday life, including her academic studies.
We can't recommend BEan in Nature enough and we are more than happy to answer any questions from any parents considering the program. Please feel free to contact us. Rob & Siân
I absolutely love the way you have been engaging the students on Zoom….
Sending us anything you think Samuel is wonderful with Google Classroom. The live bird cam was really cool, we want to continue that in our own home and investigations!
God bless you, thanks for the wonderful work you do.

"An intuitive leader and masterful nature educator, Marisa provides a safe and nurturing environment for all in which to explore and grow. At year's end, my daughter begged to return next year." ~Hilary
"I love everything about my nature class. I love my teacher Marisa, the kids, finding animals, learning about plants, I love everything! I want to take this class forever! ~Zofia, age 8
"My daughters loved The fairy themed wild crafting camp at Bean in Nature!
They learned about herbs and how to use them as medicinals. They enjoyed creating fairy art in the forest. Everyone there was inspiring and positive.Every day I picked them up they were upbeat and positive about their experience and eager to return the next day. They have asked to continue to do weekend classes through the school year."
Sincerely, Mary Ann Salyards
"My daughter's Monday BEan IN NATURE days are the highlight of her week. She doesn’t always say a lot in the car ride home, but I’ve come to learn that is only because she is worn out from her epic day hiking, exploring and learning. She is always sharing tidbits she has gained from her knowledgeable teachers." ~Mom to an adventurous 9 year old explorer

Wow~that's a great news!! ...
Just want to let you know that I am so glad I included Bean Nature in my homeschool programs. I only hoped to fill in the"field trip" part at first, but kids really benefit from this program a lot, totally out of my expectations. Learning from nature makes them peaceful kids and always curious and caring about nature. They also know many ways to enjoy the nature (that I don't know), and make wonderful connection with people (thanks to friendly assistants Mia and Michelle).
... Can't wait for the camps. ...
Best,
